BankDhofar, in partnership with the Central Bank of Oman (CBO), has soft launched a nationwide campaign to support the rollout of ‘Maal’, the Sultanate’s first exclusive national payment card. 

Reinforcing its commitment to Oman’s Vision 2040 and the national drive toward a low-carbon, resource-efficient economy, BankDhofar — the Sultanate’s largest bank by network size — is taking proactive steps to advance sustainability both through its financing portfolio and within its own operations.

BankDhofar, the Second largest bank by branch network size in Oman, has engaged Reksoft, a multi-service technology company, to help develop a strategy for transitioning to a new IT architecture using an AI-first approach. This initiative is the first of its kind in Oman’s digital banking sector.

BankDhofar celebrated the graduation of 40 employees from its Leadership Development Programme, marking a key milestone in the bank’s ongoing commitment to nurturing future leaders and contributing to national capacity-building efforts across the Sultanate of Oman.

In a move that reinforces its long-term commitment to sustainability and responsible growth, BankDhofar has unveiled a renewed focus on carbon footprint reduction —key pillar of its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy. 

In one of the most distinguished highlights of this year’s CXO Awards, celebrating Oman’s most visionary C-suite leaders, Dr. Khalid Salim Ali Al Hamadani, Chief Human Resources Officer of BankDhofar, was honoured as CHRO of the Year – Banking.

In a new milestone underscoring its steadfast commitment to empowering women, BankDhofar, the second largest bank in the Sultanate of Oman by branch network size, has been honoured with two prestigious awards — the Excellence in Financial Inclusion Award and the Excellence in Women’s Wealth Management Banking Services Award.

Reflecting its commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and adopting leading corporate practices, the Ministry of Labour honored BankDhofar during the 4th Corporate Innovation and Change Management Forum. 

In line with its continuous efforts to enhance customer proximity and deliver superior banking experiences, BankDhofar has inaugurated a new branch in Al Khuwair, one of the most vibrant and fast-growing districts in the Wilayat of Bawshar.

BankDhofar, the Sultanate’s second-largest bank by branch network, has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Taageer Finance Company SAOG, one of Oman’s leading non-banking financial institutions.
