Will my account number change?
Yes, your account number will change. We have mailed you your new account number. If you have not received it, you can walk into any BankDhofar branch and the Branch Staff will help you with your new account number.
- Will the account balance remain the same in the new system?
Yes, there is no impact on the account balance or transactions. It will be the same. This includes your transaction history.
- Will my Debit Card change? Will it work in the new system?
Your Debit Card will remain the same as of now. You can continue to use your Debit Card as usual. The new chip cards will be introduced soon.
- What are the changes regarding my relationship with the Bank? What happens to my cheque book and cheques issued?
Only your Customer Identification Number or CIF (Customer Information File) and account numbers will change. You can continue to use your existing cheque book.
- I have a Term Deposit.Will my Term Deposit receipt number change?
No. There will be no change.
- Will L/C, Bank Guarantee number change? Do I need to inform my counterparty about that?
The L/C, Bank Guarantee and Bills number structures will change as follows: -
First 6 digits date in YYMMDD format is changed to YYYYMMDD format
Last 4 digits sequence number is prefixed with a "0"
It is advisable to inform your counter party about this change in numbers.
- My bill numbers are pending for realization, how will you track this?
Our new system will ensure tracking with the same bill numbers.
- Can I operate my account in any BankDhofar branch?
You can operate your account from any of our branches to carry out the permitted transactions as per the rules of the Bank.
- Why will my customer ID change?
We have implemented a new advanced core Banking system which has necessitated this change. The change however is minor - a prefix of zero «0» has been included before your customer ID.
- Do I have to now mention the new Customer ID/Number when I call the call centre?
For your information, we have added a «0» as a prefix to your Customer ID number. Even if you mention your old Customer ID Account Number, our branches and call centre staff will be able to service you effectively as usual.
- Will my cheque book numbers change?
No, there is no change in cheque book numbers already issued to you and all such cheques would continue to be accepted.
- Where can I get my new Customer ID and Account Number details?
We have already mailed this to you. However you may walk into any BankDhofar Branch and get your new details. You can also call our 24/7 toll free number 2479-1111 for assistance.
- Will the details on my account statement change?
All new statements will have your new account number and CIF ID (Customer Information File).

- I am expecting a remittance from overseas. I have given my old account number to the remitting party. Will this be an issue? Will I get my money?
You will receive the credit into your new account without any issues.
- My L/C payment is already released in the old account number. Where will the payment go?
You will receive the credit into your new account without any issues.
- I have given standing instructions to debit my operative account for the Loan that I have taken from the Bank. Do I need to renew the standing instructions on my Loan account with the new operative account no.?
No. The same standing instructions will be replicated in the new core banking system.

- Will I be able to withdraw cash?
You can perform all transactions as usual.
- Will my ATM card number change?
No, there is no change in your ATM/Debit Card as of now. You can continue to use your existing card and PIN as usual.
FAQs - SMS & Internet Banking
- Will my existing Internet Banking ID and password change?
No, your Internet Banking ID and password will remain the same.
- Will I have to apply again for Internet Banking, SMS Banking etc?
No, you can continue to use all our delivery channels with your existing user ID and passwords.

- Why are you shifting to a new system?
We are shifting to an advanced core banking solution to offer better services to our customers. The new system will offer enhanced services through our Branches and delivery channels.
- Will there be any additional cost that will be debited to me owing to the implementation of the new system?
No, the Bank is investing in this new technology to offer a better banking experience to our valued customers.
- How will the new system benefit us?
There are many advantages for you with the new system. We will be able to offer you enhanced services from our branches and delivery channels.
- Are you going to work on two computer systems, one for the old data and other for the new?
No, we will be working on the new core banking system. We have already migrated all the data from the old system to the new one.
- Will service levels be affected?
Not at all. We will be able to service you much better and faster with this new advanced banking system.
- Is the staff at the branches aware of all the options available in the new system? Will there be delays in branch transactions?
Our staff are well trained in the new system. You will not face any problems in the branches and you will find a marked improvement in our services at the branches and channels.
- Will the Call Centre Toll Free number change?
There is no change in any of the telephone numbers.
- Is there a change in the bank timings as well?
No, there is no change in the business hours at the branches.
- Will the Bank open late on the first day of the new system?
No, the banking hours will remain the same.
